FLY Away with CASology

Happy Tuesday! I want to invite you to come over to CASology, spread your wings with us this week, and join along with our new cue card.

Rubber Dance Stamps is sponsoring our challenge for the 2nd week in a row (how AWESOME are they?!!) and sent me these two bee stamps, one is smaller and the other, definitely a focal image.

One of my fave techniques is stamping with only water onto a sponged Distress Ink background (specifically Distress Ink because of how they react with water). It lifts the ink in some areas, darkens it in others, and just gives hints of what the stamp is in some others.

My sentiment is "Be(e) a dreamer"; I thought it was cool to use the stamp in place of the actual word :) Plus, bees remind me of the summer months and time outside and the red, white, and blue was a nod to the upcoming 4th of July holiday.

Please take some time to buzz over to see everyone's inspiration for the week and say hi to our guest designer and sponsor.

From the CASology HOUSE to You

The CASology challenge blog team wants you to feel at HOME with our new cue card!

This week our super supportive sponsor sent me one of their Textured Houses stamps to work with, and as always with Rubber Dance Stamps, I'm in love! You can see how the entire image I'm using stamped on a scrap piece of cardstock. Perfect for mixed media and CAS designs! You'll be seeing these again :)

I wanted subtle tones in the houses and a real pop in the sky and ground. I (as usual) did a little stamp surgery so I wouldn't use the stars, but instead the sunbursts in the vibrant summer skyline.

Please knock on the other DT members' blog doors and see what's inside! Our guestie this week has a great inspiration card too as a welcome :) This weeks winner will get the entire stamps set for free!

Create It Wednesday- Spinner Card at PRS

It's Create It Wednesday over at Precious Remembrance Shop and I'm sharing a spinner card---yep my first one ever! The newly released {Sketchy Alphabet} stamp set was perfect for making my sentiment the focal point of my card.

Swing by the PRS blog and check out a quick video clip of this card in action!

Have a happy hump day :)

Suit-able for Father's Day with CASology

We're getting fashionable at CASology this week! Our new cue card is: CLOTHES.
I was thinking Father's Day of course and there's nothing better than a nice blue suit :)

My dad would never wear a plain suit, so I did some masking and sponging through a stencil with a slightly darker blue to create a pretty cool pattern on the suit. This is definitely more his style lol.

If you want more cool looks, definitely head over to the DT blog sites. And say a big hello to our guest designer and amazingly supportive sponsor this week!

Getting a Little Buggy at CASology

Hi there! It's time to pull out your creepy, crawly critter stamps and
join CASology this week for our new cue card!

This cute and funny little bug stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs was just the ticket for my card this week. I did a little watercoloring using Inktense pencils and added a simple, typed and computer-printed sentiment.

I don't know if you spotted anything a little off about my card, but I didn't see it until I had already taken the photo LOL. To make the washi border, I rolled out 2 strips of the tape and layered them...somehow, it matches up on the left, but not the right....hmmm. Roll with the punches, right :)

Time to check out the DT inspirations for this week's buggy challenge.
Please say hi to our guest designer too!
