We're All SQUAREd Away at CASology

I really missed you guys last week! I'm feeling better and ready to share

a little card I made for this week's CASology challenge.

I have been dying to use this set from WPlus9 (Doodle Buds). I cut a piece of white cardstock down to a small square (like 3.5" x3.5") and did lots...did I say lots...of masking to sponge the the center square and the side squares of color.

I stamped the sentiment (from the same stamp set), blossom, and stem right on top of my colored squares. I added color to the flower and stem using Prismacolor pencils and accents with a white Sharpie paint pen.

PRICKLY Fun in the Sun

Welcome back to another CASology week!

Time to put your thinking caps on for this week's cue card.

After my vacation, the first thing that came to mind with this week's CASology cue card was prickly heat (yep, I always get a sunburn despite bathing in 70 SPF sunblock lol). But that's no fun, so I went with my favorite prickly stamps, hedgehogs from Penny Black!

This is a totally one-layered card, thanks to 3 different masks, pastel distress ink blending,

and Copic coloring.

CASology Goes on SAFARI

How great that I get to craft while away on vacation in Costa Rica!

And I feel like this week's cue card for our CASology challenge is perfect: SAFARI.

I really wanted to make this a one-layer card, so stamping this giraffe and sentiment required a little bit of masking and drawing. I got this idea quite a while back from the fabulous Kristina Werner.

Here you can see how short the actual stamp is compared to how he turned out.

Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens are great for this technique, because you have so many options in nibs size. I colored everything with Copic markers and he's ready for his safari!

JUICY Fruit

What a fun cue card we have for you this week over at CASology!

It's the perfect time of year to make a card with everything JUICY in mind.

I've been hanging onto this little Avery Elle "Mon Cheri" stamp set and how sweet (get it??) to use it this week. I actually stamped these on vellum and colored them from the back using Pitt Big Brush Pens. I love Bing cherries and the colors would look great against my sponged Distress Oxide Ink background...which has a little gold lining to the clouds.
