CASology is Hitting the Books

CASology is back this week with a school-inspired theme. It's the first day of school for the kiddos here in my area, so this is such a fun cue card: EDUCATION.

`

I chose a happy little stamp set by Lawn Fawn (Science of Love) layered on top of the notebook paper with washi corners stamp from an old Hero Arts Stamp Your Story set (My Notebook).

This was so relaxing and fun to create!

Lots of masking and different coloring media were used to pull this off: Barn Door and Broken China Distress Ink, C1, C3, C5, C7 Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils, and Nuvo Crystal and Glitter Drops (Nuvo really is worth the praise it's gotten!)

Time to be inspired by the rest of the DT and our Guest Designer!

WISH a Little Wish with CASology

If you love happy thoughts and positive vibes, then CASology has you covered
with this week's cue card: WISH.

So I'm totally in L-O-V-E with the Distress Oxide inks! They're creamy and blend so beautifully...and they stamp so cleanly. Seriously, get your hands on a couple of these movies.

I masked off my border and the largest butterfly stamp in the same set as the circles I used for the background to create plenty of white space. I was able to position my sentiment in the middle of the butterfly. I think kraft cardstock is great with pastels, so it's a mostly one-layer card
with a few tiny rhinestones :)

There's more happy inspirations to see from the DT and guest designer. And our wonderful sponsor this week is Uniko Studios.

V-Day at CASology

I'm sure you've already finished your Valentine's Day cards and got them in the mail...said no cardmaker ever :) Well the CASology team has some fabulous inspirations for you this week to help you get them all done.

I love the look of subway art and couldn't resist making a "red lip" using this awesome stamp from Lil' Inker Designs! The sentiments and hearts come from Lil' Inker Designs, Concord and 9th, Paper Smooches, and Hero Arts.

To achieve the look:

  1. Shuffle through all your stamps to collect different fonts, styles, etc to pull off the subway art look.
  2. Stamp them all on little scraps and cut them out. You can move them around in your layout and see how they'll fit before actually stamping.
  3. Stamp and heat emboss your focal point (the lips are stamped with clear Versa Mark ink then embossed with Ranger red embossing powder).
  4. Stamp the lips again on masking paper (or a large sticky note like I did) and press into place.
  5. Stamp your sentiments based on your layout.
*I added Black Soot Distress Glitter as a border on the left side for a little extra dose of fabulous :)

Hop over to the other CASology Design Team members' blogs and check out
their LOVE-ly inspirations and our Guest Designer's card this week :)

Twice is Nice at CASology!

Wowsers! Who would have guessed that my cards would win in back-to-back weeks over at that the Casology challenge blog?? There are lots of fabulous cards and talent playing along each week. Can anyone say "cloud nine" :)

With that said, I get to guest design again this week (woo hoo!). This week's cue card: TOY. My take on it:

Design defined:
Plenty of white space and some masking help to frame your focal image.
*DISCLAIMER: Long post ahead, but lot of details lol :)
