BOUQUET of Love at CASology

Happy CASology Tuesday!
This week we have a cue card that screams for all things floral.

I'm addicted to this stamp set by Simon Says Stamp! I recently did 50 wedding invitation (blog post coming soon) using this image and I love love love it. I wanted to use some different colors from the normal V-day (which if you remember, I don't celebrate lol). This is a combo or Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks and May Green and Yellow Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. To keep it all one layer, I did a little bit of masking of the flower bouquet to build up the sentiment at the bottom of the card.

Check out the flowery love from the rest of the DT too!

CASology is Hitting the Books

CASology is back this week with a school-inspired theme. It's the first day of school for the kiddos here in my area, so this is such a fun cue card: EDUCATION.

`

I chose a happy little stamp set by Lawn Fawn (Science of Love) layered on top of the notebook paper with washi corners stamp from an old Hero Arts Stamp Your Story set (My Notebook).

This was so relaxing and fun to create!

Lots of masking and different coloring media were used to pull this off: Barn Door and Broken China Distress Ink, C1, C3, C5, C7 Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils, and Nuvo Crystal and Glitter Drops (Nuvo really is worth the praise it's gotten!)

Time to be inspired by the rest of the DT and our Guest Designer!

FLY Away with CASology

Happy Tuesday! I want to invite you to come over to CASology, spread your wings with us this week, and join along with our new cue card.

Rubber Dance Stamps is sponsoring our challenge for the 2nd week in a row (how AWESOME are they?!!) and sent me these two bee stamps, one is smaller and the other, definitely a focal image.

One of my fave techniques is stamping with only water onto a sponged Distress Ink background (specifically Distress Ink because of how they react with water). It lifts the ink in some areas, darkens it in others, and just gives hints of what the stamp is in some others.

My sentiment is "Be(e) a dreamer"; I thought it was cool to use the stamp in place of the actual word :) Plus, bees remind me of the summer months and time outside and the red, white, and blue was a nod to the upcoming 4th of July holiday.

Please take some time to buzz over to see everyone's inspiration for the week and say hi to our guest designer and sponsor.

Painterly Pineapples

It's summer and I'm dreaming of tropical vacations and fruity drinks
with little paper umbrellas in them.
This week's cue card at CASology is: ROW...and what better than a row
pineapples from Concord & 9th?!

I lined the 3 different stamps up in a row on my MISTI and inked them with Wild Honey Distress Ink. I knew I was going for a painterly look, so I misted them lightly with water before stamping. I did the same with the pineapple top using Peeled Paint DI, followed by a quick pass with my heat tool and then some Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn DIs for a little depth. I swooshed around some Evergreen Bough DI for the background, stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set, and glued on a few little sequins.

The DT found lots of interpretations for this week's cue card, so see what they have lined up :)

Through the Opening with CASology

We're using all the holes, spaces, gaps, etc at CASology this week!

This Tulip Print stencil was to me by our awesome sponsor for this week- Stamplorations!
I loved the graphic design of the rows of flowers.

I sponged Twisted Citron, Evergreen Bough, and Mustard Seed Distress Inks
through the stencil, then covered it with clear embossing powder- that's the shine you see.
The sentiment is from Precious Remembrance Shop's  New Day stamp set.

Time to see how the other DT members went in and around their stencils this week!
