Winter BRANCH and Berries at CASology

Small, large, bare, in bloom...we want to seem them all
for our new cue card challenge at CASology!

This is one of my favorite stamps; it's from Penny Black, called Berry Merry Christmas. I love that I can color these stamps and layer the colors for depth and still add some water coloring.
I used Zig Clean Color Brush pens in Red and Wine Red and used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide for the ink blending around the masked area. If you look closely, you can see that used silver embossing powder for the branches...a little shine never hurt anyone :)

I hope you stretch your limbs to the other DT member pages to see their creations!

GINGERBREAD Man at CASology with a Freebie

We're cookies over this biweekly challenge at CASology! Our cue card makes me hungry :)

Ok, so I have to admit that I don't own any, not one, not anything close to fudging a gingerbread man LOL! But, thanks to the interweb, I found a super cute FREEBIE from Jane's Doodles blog (cica 2014). Here is the link for the little guy- for personal use only.

Shortcut tip - Use kraft cardstock for this one...trust me, it'll make your life easier. I printed the gingerbread man on the cardstock with my printer, changing the outline color to a faint sepia tone. Then I only had to color around the edges to give him some dimension and life with a Burnt Ochre Prismacolor pencil. His buttons, hat, cheeks, and icing squiggles were also done with shades of red (Crimson Red, Poppy Red, and Crimson Lake) and green (Grass Green, Apple Green, and Spring Green) and a white Prismacolor pencil.

If you check out my IG page, you'll see the Nuvo glitter I added (as most things I make lol).

Hopefully, you have a sweet tooth for more and will check out the DT cards

Have FAITH with CASology

We're keeping the FAITH at CASology for this 2-week challenge.
This doesn't have to be a religious topic only- the DT came up with some great cards!

I finally got a chance to use a couple of pretty awesome stamps sets from Concord & 9th, "Faith and Love" and "Hello Lovely". The sentiments are from the first set and the flowers are from the latter. A huge shout out to Concord & 9th for putting the how-to instructions for the flowers on their website. I'm a little spatially challenged, so I sometimes struggle with layering stamps :)

I used all Distress Oxides for this card (except the sentiment)- Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Lucky Clover, and Evergreen Bough. The sentiment was done with Vintage Sepia VersaFine ink, a perfect brown when you don't want the harshness of black ink! I dotted the flower centers with some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops and that was a CAS design all wrapped up.

Be sure to check out the other DT inspirations!

A Little APPRECIATION at CASology

CASology is doing some thank you's, we APPRECIATE you's, and all that heartfelt jazz!!

I was really inspired by the changing colors of the leaves around here. I love fall...I just wish it would last a lot longer! All of my coloring was done with Copic markers and this stamp set is from Simon Says Stamp (Fractile Leaves).  I think it was made for coloring!!

Head over to the  CASology blog to see all the other great ways the team crafted with this fortnight's cue card!

Ghosties and FOG for CASology

Happy Tuesday! We're working with a great cue card for this 2-week CASology challenge.

These stamp sets from Paper Smooches are a couple of my all-time favorite Halloweenish stamps! And no, I didn't get paid for saying that...really :) I used the girl and guy ghosties (to call them ghosts just seems too formal with their whimsical drawing style). I heat embossed them in white EP and then colored them with a white Prismacolor pencil. After stamping and embossing the sentiments, I used some White Unicorn pigment ink from Hero Arts to ink blend around the edges for the fog.

Spooky, cute, and colorful :) Trick or Treat!

The DT has some great interpretations of the cue card, so float over and check them out too.
