SCARY Fun at CASology

It's almost time for ghosts, goblins, and lots of chocolate candy! This week at CASology, we're crafting up some spooky goodness in our CAS cards. Our cue card is:

This card was a mashup of 3s...the classic CAS number :)

I used 3 stamp sets (Ellen Hutson's Wonky Backdrops, Hampton Arts' SC0581 for the bats, and Paper Smooches' Spookalicious for the sentiment).

My 3 embossing powders were: Orange and Lime Green by Ranger and Urban Amethyst by Lindy's Gang.

Be sure to see the DT's awesome designs this week and play along for a chance to win a prize from Uniko!

Create It Wednesday ~ Precious Remembrance Stamp Bookmark

Precious Remembrance Stamps has a new release-- it's the {Sketchy Alphabet} Stamp Set! I’m shared a bookmark for Create It Wednesday using this really fun stamp set.

I love reading and have been needing to put this bookmark die to use and the {Sketchy Alphabet} letters were perfect for some multicolored stamping. I stamped each letter in a different color, cut them out, and matted them on a small piece of paper that I colored using the ink pad directly on the paper…makes a perfect match! This was my first time making a tassel too ðŸ™‚

Swing by the PRS blog and shop to check out all kinds of awesome inspiration for this stamp set!

Spooky Week at CASology

It's CASology Tuesday and we've got a creepy
cool cue card for you this week: SPOOKY!

I got to indulge in my love for embossing powder :) Black cardstock doesn't get enough love, so I thought I'd give it a chance to shine; let those eyes peek at you in the dark. Speaking of eyes, the stamp is from The Alley Way set called Meltdown and the Boo! sentiment is from the Paper Smooches Halloweenies stamp set.

Now you should creep on over to the other DT blogs and see their awesome CAS cards this week!

In Support of Breast Cancer Awareness

It's time for a new cue card with CASology
This week we're showcasing cards that: SUPPORT and with it
being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I created a card highlighting both.

I used three shades of pink, accented with some black and white cardstock and a white heat embossed sentiment. I die cut the ribbons using the Paper Smooches Hope die set. The hope sentiment is from a tiny Technique Tuesday stamp set of sentiments called Perspectives.

Breast Cancer Awareness holds a special place in my heart; like many of us, there are women in my family that have been affected by breast cancer. As a pharmacist, I urge everyone to check their boobies :) Remember, men can also be affected by breast cancer. Early detection and not delaying treatment make a significant difference! You can find more information at the American Cancer Society website.

I hope you hop over to the other DT member blogs to show them some "support" this week too!

V-Day at CASology

I'm sure you've already finished your Valentine's Day cards and got them in the mail...said no cardmaker ever :) Well the CASology team has some fabulous inspirations for you this week to help you get them all done.

I love the look of subway art and couldn't resist making a "red lip" using this awesome stamp from Lil' Inker Designs! The sentiments and hearts come from Lil' Inker Designs, Concord and 9th, Paper Smooches, and Hero Arts.

To achieve the look:

  1. Shuffle through all your stamps to collect different fonts, styles, etc to pull off the subway art look.
  2. Stamp them all on little scraps and cut them out. You can move them around in your layout and see how they'll fit before actually stamping.
  3. Stamp and heat emboss your focal point (the lips are stamped with clear Versa Mark ink then embossed with Ranger red embossing powder).
  4. Stamp the lips again on masking paper (or a large sticky note like I did) and press into place.
  5. Stamp your sentiments based on your layout.
*I added Black Soot Distress Glitter as a border on the left side for a little extra dose of fabulous :)

Hop over to the other CASology Design Team members' blogs and check out
their LOVE-ly inspirations and our Guest Designer's card this week :)

Sparkle & Shine with CASology

I'm super excited to share this week's fabulous challenge over at CASology! This week's cue card: GLITTER! I was instantly reminded of a hilarious little meme I saw months ago on Pinterest that said, "I craft, therefore I'm covered in glitter." That totally sums up my entire life when I pull out the glitter for a project lol! This card was no different, but I looove sparkle on a card :)

I knew exactly how I wanted my card to look, but had to wait for my new Concord & 9th Map Love stamp set to arrive. Thank goodness they ship so quickly, even though I ordered during a sale!

Tips for working with glitter:
  1. Use an anti-static bag or powder tool on your project! I actually pat my hands with it too. It won't prevent the glitter shower entirely, but you won't be finding glitter on yourself for the next week :)
  2. I love to use Sticky Stuff embossing powder. It's a 2-step embossing powder that is clear and sticky on the first heating, then on the second heating locks down whatever you sprinkled on top of it.
  3. Heat glitter or sparkly embossing powder from under the paper. No glitter blizzard when you turn on the heat tool :)

(Supplies: Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens, waterbrush, Elizabeth Craft Designs silk microfine glitter, Paper Smooches sentiment, Canson Bristol)

Halloween Hedgy

Sitting around on this rainy Saturday in October and I pulled out one of my hedgehog stamps... I so adore them :) This little guy is hanging onto a jack-o-lantern balloon and I thought he was just perfect for the season. Out comes my Copic markers, a background stamp, some embossing powder and before I knew it, I had a finished card. Amazing how your creative mojo can jump out of nowhere lol. I'm submitting this one to the Tag You're It! Challenge #32 because this layout was shaped by the inspiration tag below.
