Jolly HOLLY at CASology

We're giving you 2 weeks to show us your awesome HOLLY inspired cards
over at CASology!
Merry Christmas and let's jingle all the way :)

This plaid holiday paper was calling my name...and of course I couldn't go without using a
little pop of gold glitter tape (again lol). The stamp is sentiment stamp is from Precious Remembrance Shop and the holly berry and leaves are from Ellen Hutson.

In case you didn't know, I LOVE embossing powder. And yes, it takes some time masking off
intricate stamps, and avoiding getting the wrong color EP where you don't want it (trust me I know), but it's so worth the result!

I hope you check out the other DT member cards this bi-week and join us in the gallery!

Christmas Cards and a DT Call

This is only like THE MOST WONDERFUL time of the year!
I love the Christmas season...the energy, the shopping, the weather, the food :)
And, I have a brother who was born on Christmas Day (love you Nate).

I'm not only making cards, but also sharing them in hopes of joining a new DT.

This week's inspiration is from Freshly Made Sketches 367.

My favorite holiday icon is the snowman, so I couldn't help but color this little guy.
He's from The Alleyway Stamps (no longer in business, sad face).
I dry embossed some snowflakes in vellum and added more
to the background with clear versa mark ink.

I painted over the Copic coloring on his earmuffs and scarf with Nuevo glitter drops
(a new favorite thing I'm doing).

In case you missed my Christmas card last week on Instagram (I was on vacay in the Cozumel), here's a non-traditional color combo that I love, also using FMS as an inspiration!

Hope you're enjoying your holiday season and thanks for stopping by!

Don't Forget to Sparkle GIRL

Happy Turkey Week!
We're giving you a whole 2 weeks to play along with us
at CASology for this cue card!

We want to see your feminine spin on things:

I recently ordered a sweet little angel sitting on a crescent moon die by Alexandra Renke (Angel in the Moon). It's hard to tell, but I've coated her in polysparkle embossing powder and the shine is awesome. Check out my Instagram page for a closer look :)

I didn't have turquoise glitter tape, so I used some Calypso WOW embossing glitter on some plain printer paper to mimic the look. I finished with a sentiment from Ellen Hutson's Spread the Sparkle stamp set (no longer available, sorry). I love when I can curve sentiments to create a cool look!

You should definitely check out the rest of the DT design's...while you're eating turkey
or tofurkey :)

How GLASSy We Are at CASology

Happy CASology Tuesday! It's that time of year...holiday cardmaking season is upon us :)
This week, I'm using some sparkly effects on some ornaments to showcase our cue card:

This entire card was made with one stamp set from Hero Arts (Christmas Crystals, CL802). It's an older stamp set, so it's not that easy to find...sorry.
I dry embossing the wonky border and taped off the edges so that I could "hang" the
ornaments inside. The reddish one is actually popped up on 2 pop dots for dimension.
I colored everything with Copic markers then layered some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops with a paint brush...btw, it dries clear and sparkly, not white.
I stamped the sentiment and created the silver card base border with silver embossing powder.

I think the rest of the DT has some awesome GLASSic designs for you too!

SCARY Fun at CASology

It's almost time for ghosts, goblins, and lots of chocolate candy! This week at CASology, we're crafting up some spooky goodness in our CAS cards. Our cue card is:

This card was a mashup of 3s...the classic CAS number :)

I used 3 stamp sets (Ellen Hutson's Wonky Backdrops, Hampton Arts' SC0581 for the bats, and Paper Smooches' Spookalicious for the sentiment).

My 3 embossing powders were: Orange and Lime Green by Ranger and Urban Amethyst by Lindy's Gang.

Be sure to see the DT's awesome designs this week and play along for a chance to win a prize from Uniko!

What's on the MENU at CASology

Happy CASology Tuesday! This week's cue card might just make you hungry:

Who can resist a good, hot, crispy french fry?? The sentiment and birdie are from WPlus9. I did a little Copic coloring and popped him up on a few foam dots.
I added some clouds and used blue cardstock for my card base. I liked the extra white of the card at the bottom, so I decided not to lop off the rest of the card base :)

So now time to see what's being served up at the other DT member pages.

A Debt of GRATITUDE at CASology

This week at CASology, we're finding all kinds of ways to say thank you, we appreciate you, and you're awesome! Our cue card this week is:

This is truly a CAS card...purple and white embossing powders made all the magic happen.
This technique is really easy if you have a stamp positioner like a MISTI or Tim Holtz Tonic Stamp Platform...but it's not a must.

The DT and guest designer would love to show you their debts of gratitude too :)

All DRESSed Up at CASology

We're playing dress up at CASology this week! Show us all your girlie, frilly, pretty one for our cue card inspiration...and we're back to weekly challenges again :)

This week, I used some masking and ink blending to create my background. The dress is a paper doll cutout that I printed from online and paper pieced with some decorative cardstock.
By the way...I adore the Hero Arts hybrid inks, in case you haven't tried them. They stamp with crisp impressions and leave a very smooth finish without mottling.

Ok, time to check out the DT! And there's a sweet prize for this week's winner from our awesome sponsor STAMPlorations.

CASology is FLIPping Out!

Happy Tuesday! I'm back from a fabulous trip to Greece for rest and relaxation...didn't get very much of that though lol :) For this bi-weekly (just though the summer) CASology challenge, I was inspired by the very long flight, the colors of the church domes, and the blue in the sea and sky for this challenge.

I used blue cardstock as my base and die cut clouds from the Paper Smooches set Clouds...how easy was that to remember :) I stamped the paper airplanes and sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Flying By and heat embossed them. I thought the yellow would represent the sunlight in a strange artistic kinda way lol. I drew the hash marks by hand with my favorite white water-based paint pen by Sharpie...it's seriously the best extra fine point pen!

I think you'll love the DT inspirations (as always) this week!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see your card in the gallery! Here's a shot from sea level in Santorini, Greece :)

SPORTing Good Time at CASology

If you really like to play along with CAS (clean and simple) card challenges, then CASology will definitely keep your interest! Our cue card for the bi-weekly challenge (remember, after the summer we go back to weekly) is:

This was a background that I did a few weeks ago using Distress Ink and biscotti Perfect Pearls. As we wind down the summer, I'm sure we're looking for some creative ways to thank the sports coaches that guide, inspire, motivate, and train kids. This card would be perfect.

The DT has some really awesome interpretations of the cue card too,
so be sure to swing by and say hi!

Beautifull SUNBEAMs at CASology

It's summer time and there's plenty of sunshine!
Join us at CASology and show us your cards showcasing our cue card:

I'm channeling my inner Laura Bassen- the queen of rainbow sponging! Check out the link and be blown away. I wanted bright colors that would scream sunbeams, so I used Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon, Carved Pumpkin, and Barn Door Distress Inks. The stamp set is "Hello Beautiful" by Simon Says Stamp. For a teensy bit of shine and dimension, I covered the solid heart with black Nuvo crystal drops.

Check out the DT's bright cheery cards over the next 2 weeks...yep, this is an extended challenge for the summer :)

Written in the CLOUDS at CASology

What a fantastic Tuesday and we've got our head in the clouds for
this 2-week challenge at CASology!

The "rule of thirds" is a great design aesthetic...divide your project into thirds and arrange your design elements to leave or fill the space in those increments. I usually fill 1/3 of my card, but I wanted to switch it up this week. I filled 2/3 of the card by sponging on blue inks and grouped by elements into the top 1/3 of the card.

This stamp set is from Simon Says Stamp and it's so great for pick-me up cards!

BEAR Hugs to You

Everybody loves a good teddy bear and we're no different at CASology this week!
Our new cue card is to showcase all your cuddly card skills:

See how I snuck in a smidge of Copic coloring lol. This little bear, sentiment, and dotted circle stamp are all from Circle Friends by Simon Says Stamp. I used 3 different primary color embossing powders. I also dry embossed the rings using 3 circle dies... I thought it would make a cute frame :)
