BeauTIful at CASology

Okay, so many of you are in your homes for the next couple of weeks (I work in healthcare...and retail, so that's not happening over here LOL). CASology would love to see your creativity in our gallery! I'm drinking plenty of this cue card:

I'll admit, I also took a little bit of liberty with the interpretation of the cue card too :)
Never be afraid to add your own twist to card challenges!
This font is from Altenew, called Filled Alpha Stamp Set, and instead of stamping the lines on the insides of the letters (comes with the stamp set), I just drew the lines by hand.
I can't tell you how many times I looked at that word to make sure I had actually spelled "beautiful" correctly :)

Don't forget to head over to the other DT members' blogs to see their creativity in action!

Perfect PEARLs at CASology

Happy Tuesday! We're working with a very pretty cue card this week at CASology.
I hope you get a chance to play along and show us your card!

I reached back in my memory bank and remembered a couple of videos by Jennifer McGuire about creating a faux metal look using Perfect Pearls and I had to give it a try this week! Click here to check out her tutorial on YouTube and here to see another fabulous inspiration by Carissa Wiley for Ellen Hutson. Photographing shimmer and shine is such a challenge ugh, but if you give this technique a try, please leave me a comment below or tag me on Instagram so I can see your lovely cards!

There more to see from the DT and guest designer this week too!

Time to get ACTIVE at CASology

Happy Tuesday! This week is a good at CASology; we're showing how to enjoy your
day and send some cards encouraging everyone to have some fun.
Our cue card this week is:

I'm so ready for a real spring season to hit these Maryland streets! This stamp set from Simon Says Stamp has the exact sentiments I'm feeling in my soul right now...and it's all active, but very relaxing.
This is about as CAS a design as I could get, one layer and all :)

Hopefully, you find time to check out the other DT pages and see how they got busy this week.

All About PARENTS at CASology

Happy Tuesday! This week, we're showing our parents a little love at CASology.

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I instantly went in that direction.

Every one of the stamps here are from the Simon Says Stamp set "Best Mom Ever".
I was inspired by the colors of spring and thought it would be cool to blend
different colors together in the same rose when I found this cool background paper
in my stash. I used lots of Copic markers for this tiny bit of coloring lol.

Purples & Pinks:
BV00, BV02, BV04
RV00, RV02, RV04

Yellows & Oranges:
YR000, YR02, YR08
Y02, Y08, Y15

Greens:
YG01, YG06, YG17

Time to share the love of our favorite people and check out the DT inspirations!

Crooning and SWOONing at CASology

Are you getting started on V-day cards?? Well, we're all in love over at CASology this week.
Our cue card is: SWOON.

I have always been in love with music and this large music note stamp from the Love Notes set by Casual Fridays Stamps was calling my name. I stamped it in various shades of distress inks, and the sentiment with a few smaller notes from the same stamp set in black Versafine ink. For a last little detail, I took my favorite swivel x-acto blade to the red heart and cut out just the heart. I mounted it on red cardstock to match the red ink I stamped for the note.

Time to swing over and see the swoon-worthy cards by the DT (including our newest members Bharati, Karen, and Kevin - say hi to them) and the guest designer this week.

I'm also sharing at CAS(E) this Sketch! 256

Holiday CHEER at CASology

It's all about a little happiness this week at CASology!
I'm gearing up for the holiday season with my card this week.
The cue card is: CHEER.

I adore metallic embossing powder...well all EPs actually lol. This stamp set is a little older stamp set from Hero Arts called Under the Mistletoe.
The red berries are actually stamped and heat embossed on vellum then popped up on foam dots
to give some dimension to the card. How easy is this?!

Don't forget to swing by the other DT member blogs to see their cheery cards!

FORTUNE Telling at CASology

We're peeking into the future and trying to see what's in store for this week's CASology card artists. Our cue card is pretty unique this week and it's sure to stir up some ideas.

I immediately thought about fortune-telling and astrology and decided to use some watercolors. If you want your die cut images (or in this case, just an old school basic star printed from a Word document as a template) to have an organic random coloring look, don't try to cut first then color. Instead, color an area larger than you think you'll need, then arrange your die or template to capture the colors you like. I'd love to hear what works best for you!

You should definitely check out the other DT member inspirations this week too! I also want to welcome a new sponsor to CASology - Jaded Blossom Stamps.
