Silly me :) I was so excited about winning the owl challenge over at the CASology challenge blog, that I forgot two major bonuses: 1- I won the Pop-Art Pineapple stamp set from Concord & 9th (yay!) and 2- I get to be the guest designer for this week's challenge (woot woot!).
This week's cue card: TREE. My card for this week:
Design defined: Monochromatic layers of a single stamp keeps it CAS.
After rolling the code word around in my head for a couple of days, I'm convinced it was divine intervention that three ink pads in the same color family were already sitting on my drafting table when I went to do a quick idea purge of my thoughts. The idea really took shape on paper.
I achieved the shape of one tree by using lots of them together in Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, and Pine Needles Distress Inks. The quad of trees stamp is from Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations Framelit dies and stamps set "Holiday Joy" (discontinued sorry).
The sentiment is embossed with Ranger superfine gold embossing powder. The star is a wooden veneer from Studio Calico that I colored to match using a Mowed Lawn Distress Marker. A swipe of clear Wink of Stella and there you have it :)

Warning: Other cards were harmed in the making of this card (LOL).
- Dropped the inked stamp onto the paper...into the recycling bin you go.
- Stuck my pinkie finger in wet ink and got it on the white of the card...flip you over and use you later.
- Matte medium holding the star in place turned green and squished out around star...sand and recolor. Start new card.
- Tried using regular Specialty Stamping Paper from Ranger (instead of Distress Specialty Stamping Paper...had no idea there were different ones)...ink just pooled on the paper. Trusty regular white cardstock here I come.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and please feel free to comment or ask questions below. I totally hope you pop in over at CASology and give your creative genius a whirl with the weekly code words :)
