CASology is going intergalactic this week! Our cue card: SPACE.
The idea for my project was to use the cue card two ways: coloring resembling space and placing my sentiment inside the space created by the die cut.
I found a reason to attempt the galaxy-esque coloring that is so popular...but totally intimidated me. I used Dr. Ph Martin's Hydrus watercolors, a quality grade of watercolor paper (Arches), Copic Opaque White ink, and the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors metallic watercolors. How great that even something so full of color and motion can still be CAS!
TIP: All I can say is that it'll look a hot mess before it looks great :) Work in layers; don't be afraid of black watercolor paint/ink; and have fun flicking the white and metallic stars onto your work.
P.S. Copic Opaque White is not water-stable when dry and will smudge and run...I learned the hard way :)
The DT has some outta this world inspiration for you this week! So swing by and show them some love. And don't forget to pop in over at the GD and Sponsor pages this week!

I love your galaxy, Deidre! The framing around your sentiment is perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove your use of the cue word, and your galaxy is pretty amazing.
