Something New with Clever Dexter

Happy New Year!! Exciting news to kick off 2022... I'm rejoining the crafty team at Clever Dexter Challenge as a DT member. Hold on to your seats for some awesome digi stamp creations and design tips. 

First up is a sweet Valentine's Day design in a different color palette. I want to thank Joy Clair Designs for the digi stamps this month.

This card is total proof that you don't need fancy or expensive craft supplies to have fun creating cards! I made this card while traveling and using only a handful of supplies. After digging through my mom's supplies, I found some burlap, a yellow colored pencil,  and some Crayola markers (which were partially dried out by the way LOL). I did get a chance to take a quick shopping trip to the https://www.facebook.com/enchantedcottagencEnchanted Cottage- A Papercrafting Boutique in Lewisville, NC and meet the lovely owner and shell out some moolah on some new supplies and this black Valentine's and yellow polka dot decorative paper :) PSA- Support Small Businesses ❤

Happy NOT Valentine's Day with Clever Dexter

Let's just get right to it today :) This bunny and his sign were the perfect images for me to play with!

I passed on celebrating Valentine's Day way back in the 9th grade and have kept up my tradition..even though other people tend to ignore my preference LOL.

We're doing some pretty creative crafting at the Clever Dexter challenge this month. 

I have the pleasure of sharing my creation using a funny, snarky little bunny named Bunny Valentine from the digital stamp collection by CasettaSullalbero.

Love Mail at CASology

If you enjoy gathering up stacks of your pretty, handmade cards and making that trip to the post office,  then you're in luck. We're celebrating snail mail for our newest CASology challenge! 

I was super excited when I saw this challenge cue card because I knew exactly which stamp I was going to highlight! It's the Letters background stamp by Create A Smile stamps (that I was hoarding in my stash LOL). I only stamped it on one side of the card, then heated embossed in black. I triple die cut the "love" sentiment in a cherry red cardstock to give the card a little dimension. I loosely watercolored a few of the envelopes using Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

A few little hearts from ?who knows what stamp set LOL and it's all done! This color combo really brought my little idea to life. What kind of envelope stamps or dies or even origami can you use to join us at the challenge blog? We love seeing your interpretations!

CRYSTAL Clear at CASology

Crystals, gems, blingy things...this 2-week CASology cue card is sure to shine!

Do you ever sit down to make a card with a clear picture in your head of how you want it to look and get to the finished product and go, "WHOA! How did I get here?? But I love it!"

So that happens to me all the time...and this card was one of those :)

I found some Shimmer Sheets (Elizabeth Craft Designs) and picked a purplish-pink one. I stamped the heart (from Neat and Tangled's "Heart of Gold" stamp set) in black Archival Ink and fussy cut it out.  TIP: I used archival because it works great on non-porous surfaces. 

The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson's "Spread the Sparkle" stamp set. I did an ombre effect going from black and dark purple to light purple.

Better TOGETHER at CASology

One more day until V-day for all you love bugs out there. 

CASology is bringing you closer TOGETHER with our cue card :)

I'm going for a more masculine appeal with black accents and no pink lol.

I'm falling in love all over again...with my old school Dymo Label Maker. These ampersand (yep, that's the name of those little 'and' symbols) stamps are from a pretty old Hero Arts set in my stash and, for nice crisp images, I used Hero Arts Shadow and Mid-tone inks. I added a little glossy accents to the hearts for some shine and dimension. Mounted on black cardstock, I think this would be great for a special guy in your life.

Crooning and SWOONing at CASology

Are you getting started on V-day cards?? Well, we're all in love over at CASology this week. 

Our cue card is: SWOON.

I have always been in love with music and this large music note stamp from the Love Notes set by Casual Fridays Stamps was calling my name. I stamped it in various shades of distress inks, and the sentiment with a few smaller notes from the same stamp set in black Versafine ink. For a last little detail, I took my favorite swivel x-acto blade to the red heart and cut out just the heart. I mounted it on red cardstock to match the red ink I stamped for the note.

Time to swing over and see the swoon-worthy cards by the DT (including our newest members Bharati, Karen, and Kevin - say hi to them) and the guest designer this week.
