CASology is on the MOVE

Let's get moving with our cardmaking. And I mean that in a really fun way!
This week's cue card: MOVE.

When loved ones move, of course you miss them. This card would work great for a guy thanks to the artsy nature of the flower. I have shown this stamp set from Hero Arts' oldie-but-goodie "Stamp Your Story- Remember" collection lots of love. There are a several other artsy florals in the set too.

Then there's the way I made the background...it's called "bumping" the stencil. It's a technique where you sponge ink through the stencil, then move it to offset the next sponging. I adore the effect and will definitely play around some more with it :)

Time to shake a tail feather over to the other DT pages to see how they roll this week!

Come LOL at CASology

I hope you're ready for a really fun week with the new challenge at CASology! Our cue card will have you in stitches thinking of ways to play along. This week we want to see your take on the cue card: LAUGH. Here's my card for the week:

How many different ways do you text people to show them you think something's funny?? Well, here are just a few of my usuals...and I even censored myself :) If you're a textaholic like me, I bet you've seen all of these!

CASology is ADORE-able!

Don't you just love Tuesday mornings?! The CASology team brings you a
new cue card this week and some great inspiration.

This was my first time EVER (even though this was version 3 of the card lol) attempting no line coloring with Copic markers. I stamped the world image from the Hero Arts Operation Write Home Epic Love stamp set in Antique Linen Distress Ink first. It totally disappeared as I brought in the green and blue Copics. I then cut out the circle by hand and on to the scary part...slapping the "you" die on top of my colored image and praying that it cut how I envisioned it in my head :)

Rookie Tips (take it from me):
  1. Use second generation stamping if you're using light colors like I did to make it really "no line". Hence a few versions :)
  2. Definitely use some washi tape to hold your die in place. This is too important to chance it, even with a magnetic spacer.
  3. Go slow removing the bits and pieces from your die and die cutting machine so you don't have to go on a scavenger hunt in your carpet like I did, lol!

And you know I had to add some sparkle to my card using my clear Wink of Stella pen! I loved this mostly neutral color scheme and how no line coloring really made for a softer look.

Hop over to the CASology Design Team members' blogs and their inspirations
and see what an "adore"-able card our Guest Designer created this week :)

Merry Merry Merry

Here's one last holiday card for the road :) The CASology challenge blog wrapped up 2015 with the cue card: MERRY. As much as I wanted to do the "Deidre thing" and use a play on the word, I figured I'll have plenty of time for that with Feb 14th around the corner lol. Here's a fun way to end the holiday season:

Ok, so snowmen are my favorite winter icon and when I saw this guy, I got totally excited. This was a free digi stamp (hugs for that) from Free Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps.

Berry Merry Christmas!

Ok, time to make a confession...I'm a total nerd! I love to find out of the box ways to interpret every creative prompt provided by the challenge blogs. This week's Addicted to CAS challenge was code word: dimension. Hmmm. I thought about the galaxy, I thought about dimensional foam to add depth, then I was struck by last month's Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015. Yes, yes, and yes! This Penny Black "Berry Merry Christmas" stamp worked wonders.

My card...and my entry for their design team too (fingers crossed)...couldn't have come out better. My photography skills were stretched a little bit too lol.

I bet you're asking about the dimension, aren't you?? Look what a very cool technique created!

Trio of Snowflakes

Who said snowflakes had to be white...or blue...or frosty??  Certainly not me :) See what I mean:

I'm playing over at the CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge blog. Blame it on the season, but I knew this was a great time to pull out my Simon Says Stamp snowflake dies. I think the holiday season's colors of red, green, gold, and white are great against the neutral base provided by kraft cardstock. After die cutting the center snowflake, I smooshed it around on top of my Versamark ink pad then layered 2 coats of gold sparkle embossing powder and covered a punched heart in Christmas Red Stickles. It's so sparkly and happy, I wish I'd taken better photos before the rain set in (yes, I prefer taking photos using the natural light on my backyard deck lol).

Thanks for stopping by my blog and...it's almost the weekend :)
